Every Lumo Bloc lamp was cast sometime between 1930 - 1980, the era spanning Art deco, brutalism, MCM, and so many other influential periods that impact todays spaces.
The Wireless Wave Bloc Lamp is our most popular MCM choice, with its fluid ripple pattern and timeless form. The Wireless Weave Bloc Lamp works equally well in considered MCM spaces often softening square/rectangular form with the soft dissipated light.
Art Deco
Art Deco spaces celebrate geometry, glamour, and the handmade. The Wired King Diamond Bloc Lamp was made for this aesthetic -- deeply faceted diamond faces in a Gold Mirror base, at 29cm tall it is the most commanding lamp in our range. The Wireless Diamond Bloc Lamp (when available) offers the same geometric drama in a wireless format. Weave bloc can span both MCM and AD.
Japandi and Scandi
These styles share a quiet confidence -- natural materials, restraint, warmth without clutter. The Wireless Weave Bloc Lamp is the natural fit here: its fine fluted glass commands attention and the warm glow through the glass suits the low, ambient light that defines Japandi and Scandi spaces. The Wireless Arch Bloc Lamp also works beautifully -- its organic curved form echoes the natural shapes that both styles draw on.
Organic modern and biophilic
Organic modern and biophilic interiors are built around natural materials, flowing forms, and the feeling of being connected to the outside world. The Wireless Arch Bloc Lamp is the standout choice -- the curved, arched glass silhouette echoes leaves, water, and organic architecture. Industrial and brutalist
These spaces value raw materials, honest construction, and objects that do not pretend to be something they are not. Glass blocks were originally architectural and industrial materials -- used in factories, stairwells, and commercial buildings -- which means they have an authentic connection to this aesthetic that no decorative lamp can replicate.
The Wireless Column Bloc Lamp is the most overtly brutalist lamp in our range -- shorter and squatter than our standard lamps, with a dense dimpled pillar texture that reads as genuinely industrial. The Wireless Bolt Bloc Lamp (when available) suits this space too, with its dramatic abstract dimple-and-lightning-bolt pattern.
Moody interiors
Dark academia spaces layer texture, depth, and a sense of history. The Wireless Smokey Bloc Lamp is the only lamp in our range with a naturally smoked tint -- a glass characteristic from 1980s German manufacturing that is almost impossible to find today. The smoked glass absorbs and diffuses light differently from clear glass, creating a depth and atmosphere that suits moody, layered spaces. Pair it with the Circadian Red lens for maximum effect.
Femme and romantic
Warm, personal spaces with a strong sense of individual taste. The Wireless Blush Bloc Lamp (when available) is our rarest colourway -- a naturally rosy-toned glass that glows without any lens at all. It pairs beautifully with warm timber, linen, and terrazzo. The Wireless Blue Bloc Lamp is an unexpected choice in this category too -- the natural blue tint paired with the Neon Pink lens creates a warm, distinctive glow.
Coastal
Light, airy spaces that reference the sea and natural light. The Wireless Blue Bloc Lamp is the natural fit -- its naturally blue-tinted dimpled glass creates a glowing halo that references water and light without being literal about it. Pair with a white or woodgrain base and the Serene Blue lens for maximum effect.
Maximalist and eclectic
Maximalist spaces want objects with presence and personality. Almost every lamp in our range suits maximalist interiors in different ways, but the Wired King Diamond Bloc Lamp is the most overtly maximalist choice -- large, gold-based, deeply faceted, and entirely unapologetic. 1980s Miami Vice
Warm pastels, mirrored surfaces, neon accents, and unapologetic glamour. The Wireless Smokey Bloc Lamp with a Silver Mirror base and Neon Pink lens is the combination here -- smoked glass, reflective base, pink light. It is genuinely striking and entirely period-appropriate for a glass block cast in Germany in the 1980s.
